The CardMan® 4040 is a smart card reader designed to be inserted into the PCMCIA slot of your laptop. With the same state-of-the-art chip set as our desktop readers, it offers a transmission speed to the card of up to 420 kbps. Thanks to its compliance with all major industry standards, this reader is compatible with virtually any contact smart card with any operating system for any application. Extensive research and development ensures that your current and future smart card applications will work with this device. The CardMan® 4040 is designed to meet all major standards like ISO 7816, EMV (Europay, Mastercard, Visa) 2000, Microsoft WHQL, PC/SC, HBCI (Home Banking Computer Interface), the PC-2001 specification and many more. The usage within an application is based on standardized interfaces like PC/SC, CT-API or OCF (Open Card Framework).
